Antisonne

mdf, sand, pigments, fluorescent and sodium vapor lamps

280 x 280 cm

5th Edition of Moscow International Biennale for Young Art

Moscow, 2016

A deep black hole is installed in the exhibition space. Its circular shape is made from wood and coated with a light-absorbing black pigment. A strong light is installed behind it.

This mobile Antisonne (âAnti-SunÔ) is positioned within our reach and mesoscopic scale, yet appears to have neither scale, material nor a specific position in space. It irritates the eye. It makes us re-negotiate who and where we are. It absorbs us deep into its sheer infinite immaterial depth.
